Floor Monitor

Interact with children and families

Occasional, but gentle, re-enforcement of the museum rules (remember to walk, under not over, etc.)

Make yourself available as a resource for visitors

Participate in daily programming (meet the animals, story time, etc.)

Set up lunchrooms

Light cleaning throughout the Museum
Birthday Buddy
- Train a host/hostess for our many parties
- Learn how to set up for each specific party
- Learn which games/activities go with the Birthday party
- Provide assistance to the Birthday party
- Clean up after the party
Special Events
- Provide support, organization and great ideas for a variety of special events throughout the year.
- These volunteers can be in two groups:
- Those who plan and set-up for the events
- Those who help carry out the event
- Their contact person would be the person in charge of that event.
Summer Camp

Must be at least 15 year of age

Have training prior to week of camp

Come in half an hour before campers arrive

Help with set-up, clean-up and all activities
-
Assist wherever needed by the staff camp leaders

Volunteer Opportunities If you are at least 14 years old, you will fall into one of our volunteer programs.
YOUTH This program is designed for youth ages 14 to 17. You will learn important job skills such as:

Responsibility in working with exhibits and small children.

Self-confidence in discovering the scope of your skills and developing new ones.

Initiative in opportunities to take charge of activities, or express ideas for exhibits.

Working with others such as employees, visitors and other volunteers.
ADULT Our adult program is geared for volunteers over the age of 17. You will have opportunities to:

Interpret exhibits for visitors by combining interpersonal skills with exhibit knowledge.

Work with museum staff in the Museum store, assist with various clerical tasks, help serve special function dinners, etc.
