Muncie Children’s Museum is proud to have partnered with TeenWorks for their summer program. TeenWorks offers local teens summer employment in high-demand fields to expand their horizons and help them take a first step into the adult world. While with us at MCM, TeenWorks staff (wearing their blue shirts) will assist in cleaning and office duties, help with activities and field trip programs, and clean up the outdoor learning center. We are so excited to have them here with us this summer!
We had a great turn out for the Habitat Hike at Dutro Ernst Wood. Thank you to Red-tail Land Conservancy for leading this hike for all our young friends and their grown ups as they explored the woods and played among the nature play areas. The Quakenbush Family won a nature book and The Braswell Family won a nature kit just for participating in the habitat hike.
This habitat hike was part of Muncie Children’s Museum’s free summer program, “More to Explore in Muncie”, with weekly nature events sponsored by Muncie Altrusa Foundation. Every time your family attends a “More to Explore in Muncie” nature event, you will be entered into a drawing for a free family membership to MCM to be given away in August.

Muncie Children’s Museum will kick off our summer 2024 program: More to explore in Muncie with the participation of Muncie’s Nature Play Days on Wednesday, June 5th from 10am-2pm. Admission to Muncie Children’s Museum for this event is buy one, get one free with fun nature activities including: the opening of the new nature/camping mini exhibit, creating nature crafts and exploring nature sensory bins. Nature Play Days is a week of family-friendly events focused on getting kids outside and in nature, a program by Indiana Children and Nature Network – ICAN . Coming this Summer: More to explore in MuncieExplore the world around you with Muncie Children’s Museum’s weekly nature activities beginning in June. This FREE summer programming will be located offsite at various local nature sites to give families the opportunity to learn about areas in Muncie and explore the nature around them. Muncie Children’s Museum had a wonderful time at Magic at Minnetrista: Total Solar Eclipse. Throughout the three-day celebration, nearly 1500 visitors gathered at Minnetrista Museum and Garden to experience the total solar eclipse! Thank you to Minnetrista Museum and Garden for their partnership of this celestial celebration! We would also like to take the time to thank the Simons Foundation and its ‘In the Path of Totality’ initiative for their generosity and support.
Muncie Children’s Museum will have the temporary mini exhibit highlighting the solar eclipse open throughout the month of April. Now there IS more to explore at Muncie Children’s Museum! Thank you to everyone that attended the grand opening of our new Water Table and Train Exhibit. There’s MORE TO EXPLORE at the Muncie Children’s Museum in 2023!
For the first time in 25 years, the Muncie Children’s Museum has embarked on an exciting fundraising campaign to reinvigorate this long time staple in Muncie, Indiana. Since 1977, the Muncie Children’s Museum has provided fun educational and interactive entertainment for children of all ages with numerous unique play areas. We are so grateful for our wonderful community and are excited to announce we’ve already raised over $2.6 million! Check out the renderings of our new model train layout and water table coming mid-summer/early fall 2023 to the MCM!
We are still seeking donations of any size to help us meet our goal! You can help us reach our goal of $3 million and play a part in creating new educational and fun areas kids can enjoy for years to come.
