TombPriestess3It is the year 1254 B.C. and Nefertari, beloved wife of Pharaoh Ramses II, was just laid to rest. In the flickering light of the myrrh-scented tomb, noble Egyptians (your family) will receive a guided, first-person tour by costumed priests and priestesses. They’ll learn about the religious beliefs, burial practices, hieroglyphics, art, games and clothing as they explore the freshly completed tomb.

The tomb contains 28 brightly painted wall panels, plus life-sized statues, artifacts, war chariot and sarcophagus. It was constructed by juniors and seniors at the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics and Humanities, and the students will give the age-appropriate, interpretive tours.

Self guided tours will be available until June 17th.

Free with admission.
