Celebrate National Reading Month and Read Across America with Muncie Children’s Museum’s Literacy Fair and Book Character parade on March 16th. This Free Saturday event is sponsored by Norfolk Southern with activities provided by United Way, Muncie Public Library, PBS, Muncie Community Schools and Andrew Cullen.
The Literacy Fair will be running from 10am-3pm with literacy stations and activities throughout the museum.
The Book Character Parade will begin at 11am. Visitors are invited to dress up as their favorite book character for a Book Character Parade. Participants are encouraged to bring the book with them if possible and will be given the opportunity to share about their character. Prizes will be awarded for each category: Best in Age Group (2 and under, 3-5yrs, 6-8yrs, and 9+yrs), Most Creative and Best Overall. Every child that participates will receive a free book.
Admission to the Museum is free from 10am-5pm thanks to Norfolk Southern.
