The Muncie Children’s Museum is seeking an enthusiastic and strategic Director of Development to lead our fundraising and community engagement efforts. Step into the Ice Age with Muncie Children’s Museum’s new hands-on mini exhibit! Visitors can dig for dinosaur bones and fossils in the Fossil Dig, take shelter from the cold in the Ice Cave, and use excavation tools to break dinosaurs free from ice during the scheduled Ice Excavation activity times. Visit today before the exhibit goes extinct!

Special “Thank You” to Ali Yakos, Emmie Copper, Greta Hannon, Clayton Dick and Brooklyn Grey from the Muncie Youth Leadership Program for taking the time to pour into our Outdoor Learning Center as a part of their group service project. This group of local high school students cleaned up our existing flower beds and brought it back to life by planting new flowers. The group also planned an activity to be utilized by MCM as part of their group project.

The Muncie Youth Leadership Program through Shafer Leadership Academy is offered to selected Muncie Central, Burris Laboratory School, and Indiana Academy students with a goal to explore the dynamics of leading groups. Through the two-semester program, students gain insight on the relevance of what it means to be a leader on campus and the surrounding community of Muncie.

Starting in 2025, MCM is taking a huge step forward in fulfilling our commitment to providing ALL children the opportunity to experience and enjoy everything our Museum has to offer. As of January 1, 2025, children and families who participate in any of the qualifying programs listed below are eligible for $1/person admission ($5/family max) to the Muncie Children’s Museum during any regular business hours:

• CSHCS (Indiana Children’s Special Health Care Services)
• CSFP (Commodity Supplemental Food Program)
• HIP (Healthy Indiana Plan – Basic and Plus)
• Hoosier Care Connect
• Hoosier Healthwise
• Medicaid
• SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
• TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
• WIC

To receive the reduced admission rate, families simply present proof of participation in any of the qualifying programs to our front desk staff.

MCM is excited to offer this opportunity to offer admission at a significantly reduced rate! With Access for All, a qualifying family of 4 can visit the Museum twice for the cost of one regular admission. Welcome to Cardboard City, Muncie Children’s Museum’s new temporary mini exhibit created by YOU! We have loved seeing all the creative buildings and creations our visitors have crafted over the last couple of weeks. We have spotted a laser tag building, McDonald’s with golden arches, police helicopter and landing pad, and even Batman’s Batcave, to name a few! Make sure to stop in to add your masterpiece to our unique city, we can’t wait to see what you create! This temporary mini exhibit is sponsored by the Ronald L. McDaniel Foundation.

Muncie Children’s Museum is proud to have partnered with TeenWorks for their summer program. TeenWorks offers local teens summer employment in high-demand fields to expand their horizons and help them take a first step into the adult world. While with us at MCM, TeenWorks staff (wearing their blue shirts) will assist in cleaning and office duties, help with activities and field trip programs, and clean up the outdoor learning center. We are so excited to have them here with us this summer!

Muncie Children’s Museum will kick off our summer 2024 program: More to explore in Muncie with the participation of Muncie’s Nature Play Days on Wednesday, June 5th from 10am-2pm. Admission to Muncie Children’s Museum for this event is buy one, get one free with fun nature activities including: the opening of the new nature/camping mini exhibit, creating nature crafts and exploring nature sensory bins. Nature Play Days is a week of family-friendly events focused on getting kids outside and in nature, a program by Indiana Children and Nature Network – ICAN .
